Lei received his B.S. in Processing Equipment and Control Engineering and his Ph.D. in Chemical Process Equipment under the supervision of Prof. Liangyin Chu from the Sichuan University (SCU) in 2012 and 2017, respectively. From 2017 to 2018, he worked as an Assistant Research Fellow in the Laboratory of Water Chemistry and Corrosion at the Nuclear Power Institute of China. He then performed his Postdoctoral Training in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) from 2018 to 2020. In 2021, He joined the Dalian University of Technology (DUT) as an Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department (Collaborating with Prof. Jining Sun). Lei’s research aims to build a world-class research program on the design and synthesis of multifunctional Surface & Interface systems, thus addressing the world's stickiest environment, energy, and health challenges. By 2021, Lei has authored nearly 20 peer-reviewed papers mainly in the leading journals in advanced surface and interface regulation, including Advanced Functional Materials, Small, Chemical Engineering Journal, Additive Manufacturing, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Cell Reports Physical Science, and Langmuir. Lei presented his work at more than 10 international conferences with 6 invited keynote talks and served as a reviewer for 12 journals.
